Goals of the Pilot
CCTA is leading the way in automated driving systems with our innovative AV pilot projects.
The Bishop Ranch shuttle pilot project will help CCTA and our partners:
- Understand how low-speed, autonomous, electric, and shared vehicles can enhance existing services.
- Test how mobile apps can facilitate ride-hailing and trip planning.
- Understand the needs of different travelers such as employees, shoppers, and entertainment-goers who utilize Bishop Ranch.
- Guide long-term transportation planning to prepare the county for future changes in the transportation industry.
